Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
The Van Guide collects the minimum amount of data needed to run an editorial website. No tracking cookies, no cross-site tracking, no ad networks, no data sales. Ever.
What gets collected
- Anonymous visit stats via Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-first, no cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal data. This tells us aggregate visit counts and which pages are popular so we can prioritize what to write next.
- Your email address, only if you voluntarily subscribe to the newsletter. Stored in a secure database (Supabase) used solely to send the newsletter. Unsubscribe anytime.
- Your message, if you email us. Standard email handling — we don't share it.
What doesn't get collected
- No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party ad tracker.
- No cookies used for tracking (the site may set a first-party session cookie purely for technical function).
- No cross-site profiling.
- No sale or sharing of email lists.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links — particularly to insurance carriers and builder directories — may be affiliate links. When they are, the page that contains them discloses it clearly at the top of the article. Editorial recommendations are never influenced by affiliate status.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your newsletter subscription or any data we hold about you at any time by emailing [email protected]. If you're in California, the EU, or the UK, this request is processed within the timelines required by applicable law.
Changes
This policy may change as the site grows. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date.
